Vlas Ignatov (Ignatiev) is a Russian translator and diplomat of the beginning of the 16th century , serving as the Ambassador of the Embassy. On his kind, see Ignatiev .
In 1525 he was interpreter at the embassy of Prince Zasekin-Yaroslavsky and clerk Trofimov, who was sent by Grand Duke Basil III to Spain to the court of Emperor Charles V. He also participated in translations for the Gennady Bible , the Archbishop of Novgorod, from 1518, along with Dmitry Gerasimov, helped Maxim the Greek in translating the Interpretations into the Apostle, the Explanatory Psalms, and possibly the conversations of John Chrysostom on the Gospel of Matthew and John. Maxim Grek translated from Greek into Latin , Vlas and Dmitry Gerasimov from Latin into Russian.
From the beginning of the XVI century it was involved in the execution of diplomatic missions, especially often related to relations between Russia and the Empire. During his first stay in Moscow in 1517, the imperial ambassador Herberstein met him.
Perhaps Vlas was a translator of the Russian embassy to the emperor led by Yakov Polushkin , held from June 1522 to the beginning of 1524 . It was in this capacity that he spoke at the embassy to the emperor Prince Zasekin-Yaroslavsky and clerk Trofimov from June 1524 to April 1526 and at the embassy to emperor Lyapun Osinin and Andrei Volosaty from 1526 to 1528 .
