About the Museum

The museum was inaugurated in Building B by the efforts of Oleg Nikolayevich Nabokov as the Polytechnical Museum of the Taganrog Radio Engineering University on September 12, 2002 , on the Day of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Taganrog Radio Engineering Institute . The red ribbon during the opening ceremony was cut by Taganrog Mayor Sergei Shilo , TRTU Rector Vladislav Zakharevich and Oleg Nabokov [1] .

The Taganrog Polytechnical Museum was one of the first to be invited to the Association of Scientific and Technical Museums of the country of the Russian Committee ICOM [2] , and its creator and director Oleg Nabokov [3] was elected to the leadership of this organization [4] .

Museum Exposition

The museum’s exposition presents the history of the development of science and technology in the areas in which the future specialists of the Taganrog Institute of Technology are preparing:

  • radio engineering and television
  • automation and computer technology
  • aviation and astronautics
  • electronics and information security

A number of showcases and stands in the museum are dedicated to the life and work of prominent leaders and scientists of TRTI / TRTU / TTI: the first director of TRTI, Konstantin Yakovlevich Shaposhnikov , Viktor Ilyich Bogdanov , Anatoly Vasilyevich Kalyaev , Alexei Nikolaevich Harin, Alexander Ivanovich Soloviev .
