Scaly-clawed gecko [1] (Latin Sphaerodactylus macrolepis ) is a species of the genus Sphaerodactylus of the gecko family ( Gekkonidae ).

This animal lives mainly in the Caribbean islands - Puerto Rico , Virgin Islands - both British and US. Occasionally also found in South and Central America - in Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia.
Considered earlier as a subspecies of S. m. parvus , whose representatives live in the Lesser Antilles - Anguilla, Sint Maarten and Sint Barthelemy - in 2001 was allocated to a separate species S. parvus . In general, the following subspecies are distinguished in the composition of the species Sphaerodactylus macrolepis :
