Story
Skvortsov Grishka lived, there were books. Grishka was a scruffy and very desperate boy, and from this the books he constantly suffered and were in poor condition: “endlessly and without beginning, bindings — like basting, scribbles on the sheets ...”.
Grishkino’s books suffered for a long time, but once they got tired of all this, and they decided to run away from him to the library, where they transferred them for repairs to the bookbinder Mitrofan Kuzmich. After the restoration of the book, they decided to stay in the library. But Grishka, deciding to do homework, did not find a single book ...
With the help of a dog, Grishka found books in the reading room of the library, but at his request to give them out for reading, the books drove him away.
After thinking and understanding his mistake, Grishka wrote an apology on a piece of paper and carried it to his books in the library. Books forgave Grishka and returned to him.
