With the beginning of the Balkan Wars, October 18, 1912, under the command of Lieutenant of the Navy Nikolaos Votsis , at the risk of being blown up by mines, sank the old Turkish battleship Feth-i-Bulent near the port of Thessaloniki . The battleship itself did not matter much, but the fact of drowning it in the minefield port of the capital of Macedonia raised the morale of its Greek population and marked the beginning of a number of Greek victories over the Turks at sea.
The destroyer ran aground and drowned in the Mudros Bay of the island of Lemnos , during a storm on April 23, 1913, but without casualties. It was raised and re-commissioned. In 1918 it was converted into Aquarius.
