Geography

Lormont is located approximately 500 km southwest of Paris , 7 km northeast of Bordeaux [1] on the east coast of the Garonne .

Lormon is divided into several large quarters: Career, Genicard, Le Boer, Le Grand Tressan - Domin du Manoir, Iri Lissander and La Ramad.

Economics

The basis of the economy is trade, transportation (there is a seaport) and industry. The city has 882 small, commercial and industrial enterprises.

In 2007, among 13,551 people of working age (15-64 years old), 8941 were economically active , 4,610 were inactive (the activity indicator was 66.0%, in 1999 it was 71.6%). Of 8941 active, 7378 people worked (3912 men and 3466 women), 1563 were unemployed (760 men and 803 women). Among 4610 inactive, 1486 people were pupils or students, 1111 were pensioners, 2013 were inactive for other reasons [2] .
