Geography
Lormont is located approximately 500 km southwest of Paris , 7 km northeast of Bordeaux [1] on the east coast of the Garonne .
Lormon is divided into several large quarters: Career, Genicard, Le Boer, Le Grand Tressan - Domin du Manoir, Iri Lissander and La Ramad.

Economics
The basis of the economy is trade, transportation (there is a seaport) and industry. The city has 882 small, commercial and industrial enterprises.
In 2007, among 13,551 people of working age (15-64 years old), 8941 were economically active , 4,610 were inactive (the activity indicator was 66.0%, in 1999 it was 71.6%). Of 8941 active, 7378 people worked (3912 men and 3466 women), 1563 were unemployed (760 men and 803 women).
