Policy
In the 2012 presidential election, residents of the canton gave Francois Hollande 27.9% of votes in the 1st round against 27.1% of Marine Le Pen and 21.3% of Nicolas Sarkozy ; in the 2nd round, Hollande won in the canton 56.5% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 26.4%, Ségolene Royal - 25.5%; 2nd round: Royal - 51.5%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 1st electoral district of the Somme department, they supported the candidate of the Socialist Party, Pascal Buastar , who received 24.0% of the votes in the 1st round and 57.2% in the 2nd round. In the regional elections of 2010 in the 1st round, an alternative list of the “left” won, headed by National Assembly deputy Maxim Gremetz, who collected 25.1% against 19.9% of the list of “rightists” and 17.6% of the list of socialists.
