Yakov Davidovich Avrasin ( October 18, 1905 - November 18, 1994 ) - Soviet scientist, doctor of technical sciences , professor ; founder of the creation of structural composite materials for aircraft and rocket technology based on fiberglass and delta wood [1] [2] .

Biography
In 1932 he graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a degree in Chemistry Research [1] [2] .
From 1933 to 1994 he worked at the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials , having gone from engineer to head of the laboratory [1] [2] .
Scientific activity
The materials developed by him during the Great Patriotic War were the main structural material of MiG , LaGG and other aircraft. In the post-war period, he developed more than 50 brands of fiberglass, which are widely used in spacecraft, aircraft, helicopters, as well as in other industries [1] [ 2] .
The author of more than 150 scientific papers and copyright certificates [3] . He trained dozens of specialists for the aviation industry [1] [2] .
