Located 12 km west of the city of Opochka .
The population as estimated at the end of 2000 was 301 inhabitants [1] , as of 2012 - 300 residents .
Until 2006, it was the administrative center of the now abolished Petrovsky volost .
Hero of the Soviet Union Timothy Egorov was born and died in the village.
