Santa Lucia ( Spanish: Santa Lucía ) is a city in the south of Uruguay , in the far west of the Canelones department.

Geography
It is located about 60 km northwest of the country's capital, the city of Montevideo and 15 km from the city of Canelones , at the intersection of roads No. 11 and No. 63. The Santa Lucia River , which gave it the name, flows through the northwestern tip of the city.
History
Santa Lucia was founded in 1782 with the name Villa San San Juan Bautista. June 15, 1925 received the status of a city ( Ciudad ) [1] .
