Timofei Vasilievich Fedorov ( June 20, 1915 , village Skorynino , Novgorod province [1] - January 21, 1944 , village Vitino , Leningrad Region ) - commander of a company of machine gunners, sergeant. For the feat committed during the battle near the village of Vitino , he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumous). He was buried in the Upper Park of the Red Village [2] .

Biography
Timofei Fedorov was born on June 20, 1915 in the village of Skorynino [1] . He dropped out of school in the fifth grade and, having finished the courses, got a job as a tractor driver on a collective farm. Since May 1937 he served in the ranks of the Red Army , after which he returned to his native village.
From the first days of World War II , he went to the front with his brothers (all the brothers Timofey died - Fedor, Dmitry and Feofan), participated in the defense of Leningrad, for which in 1943 he received the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad" [2] .
Feat
On January 19, 1944, the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the 4th Infantry Regiment of the 98th Infantry Division of the 2nd Shock Army , in which Timofey Fedorov served, was ordered to move to the village of Vitino and destroy the enemy group there. By January 20, Soviet troops occupied the village, but the next day the Germans launched a counterattack. On the evening of January 21, the shelling of Soviet positions began with the Ferdinand heavy self-propelled artillery mount , which the Soviet troops could not destroy. Then Timothy Fedorov gathered a bunch of grenades and sneaked close to the gun. Swinging. he threw a bunch under the track of the self-propelled guns, but he himself was not able to run away, dying from a booming explosion [3] .
Rewards and memory
- On October 5, 1944, Timofei Vasilievich Fedorov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously).
- In January 1943 he was awarded the medal " For the Defense of Leningrad ."
- The village of Vitino has a memorial sign and a plaque.
- In the Sheksna park, a bust is installed in honor of the hero.
- A tombstone was erected at the burial place of the remains of Timofei Fedorov in Krasnoye Selo .
