Mikhail Yakovlevich Borodin ( September 27, 1920 , Korneevo , Smolensk province - 1998 ) - specialist in the field of materials science, candidate of technical sciences (1968) [1] ; a scientist in the field of fiberglass and heat-protective materials for aerospace products [2] .

Biography
Born in the village of Korneevo (now - Novoduginsky district , Smolensk region ). In 1946 he graduated from the Moscow Aviation Technological Institute with a degree in non-metallic materials processing technology [1] [2] .
In 1947-1992 he worked at the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials as an engineer, and from 1968 he was the head of the laboratory [2] .
Scientific activity
In 1968 he defended his thesis [2] .
The main areas of research:
- creation of lightweight aggregates for composite materials [1] .
He participated in the development of fiberglass for various purposes, which are used in aircraft and rocket technology. Under his leadership, the task was solved of creating a complex of materials for composite blades of the Ka-32 , Ka-50 helicopters and rotor blades of the rotor-fan engines of the An-70 , An-140 , Il-114 and others. [2]
Co-author of two monographs, more than 50 articles and 30 inventions [2] .
