Bergbiten

Bergbieten ( French Bergbieten ) is a commune in the north-east of France in the Grand Est region [1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardennes - Lorraine ), department of the Lower Rhine , Molsem district , Molsem canton [2] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished Vaslon canton (Molsem district).

History

Bergbiten was first mentioned in 1120 as the possession of the bishops of Strasbourg. Bergbiten was looted several times: in the XV century during the Hundred Years War , in 1525 during the Peasant War in Germany , as well as during the Thirty Years War , when the castle was destroyed.

Bergbiten is located in a valley surrounded by vineyards, on the Alsace wine road, about 380 km east of Paris , 22 km west of Strasbourg [3] . The INSEE code of the commune is 67030.

Economics
