Biography
Born in 1913 in Zagreb in a working class family. He graduated from the free school of political sciences in Prague, also studied at the Faculty of Civil Engineering with a degree in architecture. He was considered one of the most talented students in Prague, participated in numerous student organizations. He was a member of the "Commonwealth of Croatian Academicians" ( Croatian Zadruga hrvatskih akademičara ).
Arrived in Spain with a group of students who left Prague on January 26, 1937 , the group also included his compatriot and future World War II participant Mirko Kovachevich . Turk served in the Dimitrovsky battalion , proved himself in the battles as a courageous fighter, being the first to rise to the rank of lieutenant. He was also considered the best scout of the battalion, did not leave him for a single day, he fought in its composition for all five months. He died on July 6, 1937 at the Battle of Villanueva de la Cañada.
