In 1861-1917, the village was the center of the Spasskaya volost of the Rybinsk district. [2]

The village is located on the south, facing the Volga side of the road leading from Rybinsk to Tutaev on the left bank of the Volga River ( Gorkovskoe Reservoir ), at a distance of about 0.5 km from the shore. Between the village and the Volga is a pine grove on a sandy ridge [3] . Even before the October Revolution , this area was chosen for the construction of villas by wealthy Rybinsk residents. Under Soviet rule , summer cottages and pioneer camps settled in these summer cottages. Before the revolution and under the Soviet power, the main type of passenger transport was water; the pier of Gorelaya ridge functioned in front of the village, in the form of a floating landing stage . After the end of Soviet power, water transport fell into disrepair due to the cost of fuel, and the quality of the road improved significantly, so now the only regular mode of transport is buses. As industry developed in Rybinsk, mass construction of pioneer camps in many areas, and also because of the pollution of the Volga below Rybinsk, the surroundings of the village lost their unique appeal.

In Spas, a new settlement is being built under the auspices of NPO Saturn with a total area of more than 50 hectares. It is planned to combine the Savior with the nearby village of Artyukino . On the banks of the Volga in the spring of 2015, the Park Hotel Spasskoe began to function, including a hotel, cottages for living, a bath complex and a pool with a SPA center. In February, Khlebnikoff restaurant opened its doors to guests, offering Russian and European cuisine.

Temple of the Savior

The village is named after the temple of the All-Saving Savior in its center, an architectural monument of 1804–1825, now lying in ruins [4] . The dimensions of this temple, the largest on the left bank of the Volga in the Rybinsk district, indicate the leading role of this village in the past. When the temple - the parish cemetery, used today. Forces of the parishioners restored the sub-house, from the end of February 2015, permanent services began. The church is being restored.

As of January 1, 2007, 25 permanent residents lived in the village [5] . The village is an attractive place for holiday cottage. The village serves the post office Nazarovo . According to postal data in the village there are 5 streets: Verkhnyaya (40 houses), Dachnaya (11 houses), Lesnaya (11 houses), Nizhnyaya (55 houses), Novaya (5 houses) [6] .
