Dr. Abu Bakr al-Mabrouk al-Mansuri ( arab. أبو بكر المبروك المنصوري ) is a Libyan politician. He was Minister of Agriculture, Marine and Animal Resources at the Supreme People’s Committee of Libya (government under Gaddafi) since 2006. [1] His responsibilities included addressing food security issues, agricultural development, and overseeing the Great Man-Made River project.

Events
On March 25, 2007, the Libyan Ministry of Agriculture held a workshop for the Maghreb countries, where experts from the Maghreb countries discussed the problems of combating desertification and agriculture in the region. The workshop brought together representatives from Tunisia , Morocco , Algeria , Mauritania and Libya , where they exchanged experiences.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Al-Mansuri spoke about the harsh weather conditions of the Maghreb desert areas and the lack of resources that have a direct impact on the development of agriculture in the region, and that this poses a threat to food production in the region. He added that “improper farming practices and the abuse of land and its irrigation with water have contributed to increasing desertification [2]
