Petrakovo is a village in the Pogorelkovsky rural district of the Glebovsky rural settlement of the Rybinsk district of the Yaroslavl region [1] .

The village is located about 8 km northwest of the center of the rural settlement of the village of Glebovo . It is located on the right bank of the Volga and the southern bank of the Koprin Bay of the Rybinsk Reservoir . Upstream, the Shepelevsky stream and then the Kotkinsky stream flow into the Volga, on which the villages of Kotkino and Selekhovo stand. The high Volga coast from Kotkin to Petrakovo gradually decreases from 8 to 2-3 m. The highway Glebovo - Legkovo passes east of the village at a distance of 3-4 km. Between Petrakovo and the highway there are several villages of Mukhino , Yagodino , Podolskoye , Ploskoe [2] .
In the vicinity of the village there are archaeological sites : a village of the 11th century, a burial mound of the 12th – 13th centuries. They are declared historical and cultural monuments of the Rybinsk region [3] .
The village of Petrakova is indicated on the plan of the General Land Surveying of the Rybinsk Uyezd in 1792, placed slightly upstream on the right northern bank of the stream, on the other bank of which the village of Shepeleva is designated. On the plan, this stream is called Petrakovsky, now it is called Shepelevsky . At about the place where Petrakovo is now, on the plan is the village of Ploskaya
On the other side of the Koprin Bay there is an intensive construction of the Koprino Heliopark.
As of January 1, 2007, there were 8 permanent residents in the village [4] . The village is actively used for summer holidays. The village is served by the Pogorelka post office, according to postal data there are 57 houses in the village [5] .
