Story
In the first minutes of the film, he is introduced to Edison Carter ( Matt Frewer ), a television reporter whose goal is to expose corruption and greed. Carter discovers that his employer, Network 23 (Network 23), created a new form of subliminal advertising , (the so-called “blip-verts”, literally sounds like a “flash of faith”), which can be deadly for some viewers.
When attempting to escape from the Network’s headquarters with evidence, Edison suffers a serious head injury by hitting a barrier with the inscription “Max Height” (max headroom). Thinking that Carter was killed, the executive director Bruce Lynch, a teenage genius who works as a scientist on Web 23, records a digital copy of Carter's memory and mind. The record was to be used to create a computer replacement for Carter in order to conceal his death.
Nevertheless, Bruce’s program contains errors and, apparently, is incorrect: “Max Hadrum” mutters again and again (what Carter saw before he lost consciousness, and the first, albeit primitive words that Max says, while his digital the image, twitching, turns into an exact, clear copy of Edison). Bruce instructs the mercenaries to get rid of both the unconscious Edison and his virtual copy, but they sell Carter to a donor bank of organs, and a virtual copy to the owner of the pirate TV station Big Time (Big Time) Blanca Regu.
Reg "fosters" a self-learning neuroprogram, and as a result, she begins to live her own strange life. Now Max gives off sparkling jokes in his new show on Big Time, and the ratings of the Reg channel go up sharply.
Meanwhile, Carter comes to his senses and runs from a donor bank. With the help of Torah Jones' colleague ( Amanda Pace ) and thanks to the Max show, which distracted attention from him, Carter eventually triumphs over Network 23.
