Geography
Ulanovo is located at the southern foot of the Olkhinsky plateau on the southwest coast of Lake Baikal at 98 km of the Circum-Baikal Railway .
History
The village was founded as the village of builders of the Circum-Baikal Railway in 1902. Ulanovo station on the Circum-Baikal Railway, after this section of the road became a dead end, was liquidated. Now at this place there is only a stone water-lifting building with a pipe and the foundations of the destroyed buildings.

Attractions
At present, near the former village is located the VVZhD Khvoynaya camp site. Near the base is a clean gravel beach.
