Content

History

The company was established in 2002 by decree of the State. Council of the PRC .

In 2010, the State Grid Corporation of China launched a hydropower project in Malaysia , Sarawak , with a total investment of $ 11 billion [5] .

In 2011, an agreement was signed with the Russian electric grid operator on the construction of cross-border networks in the Amur Region for the import of electricity from Russia. [6]

In 2012, State Grid acquired power grid assets in Brazil from Actividades de Construcción y Servicios SA in Spain for $ 531 million in cash and the company paid off $ 411 million of debt [7] .

In October 2012, in Nigeria, as part of a consortium with a local investor, the company acquires for $ 132 million a 51% stake in Geregu Power Generating Company , whose capacity is 414 MW [8] .
