Huron [1] ( born Huron ) is a city and district center of Biddle County in South Dakota . The population of 12,591 (in 2010) is ninth in the state. Huron hosts a traditional state fair.

History
Huron, city center
The city of Hyuron was founded as a railway station during the railway boom of the 1880s. It received its name from the name of the Huron Indian tribe.
