Historical background
Praxair, Inc. was founded in 1907 and became the first company in the United States to start producing oxygen from air using cryogenic separation methods [1] .
In 1917, the company first introduced a liquefied gas distribution system, and at the end of World War II, it applied an on-site model of gas supply to enterprises. In the 1960s, Praxair introduced new methods for non-cryogenic air separation. Since then, Praxair has continued the development and implementation of modern innovative systems and technologies in various industries.
The company has offices in virtually every country and every continent (with the exception of Australia). In South America, the company is commonly known as White Martins [1] . In China [2] and India [3] Praxair is one of the largest industrial gas producers. Praxair also has a strong presence in Europe. Praxair borrowed its name from the Greek word “praxis”, which means “practical application,” and the word “air”, the primary material the company works with [1] .
