Born March 19, 1939 in Finland.
From 1979 to 1999 - Member of the Parliament of the Åland Islands , and from 1988 to 1991 - Prime Minister of the Government of the Åland Islands.
From 1995 to 1999, he was the first vice speaker, and from 1999 to 2000, the speaker of the parliament of Alandov.
From 2001 to 2003 - Minister of Social Affairs and the Environment of the Åland Islands.
