Young the giant

Young The Giant is an American indie rock band formed in 2004 in Irvine, California, USA. In 2009 Young The Giant signed a contract with Roadrunner Records [1] , and in 2010 they released their debut album of the same name.

History

Young The Giant formed in 2004 in Irvine, California. The band was originally called The Jakes [2] . Initially, the group consisted of Jacob Tilly, Adam Farmer, Kevin Massudi, Ehson Hashemian and Samir Gadhii, the name of the group was an acronym for the names of the members [3] . However, the current composition of the group was formed only in 2008. The composition included Samir Gadhi, Jacob Tilly, Eric Cannet, Payam Duscedeh, Francois Commois [4] . In 2008, The Jakes recorded the EP "Shake My Hand" which includes seven songs. The single "Cough Syrup" began to be broadcast on KROQ radio stations [5] . In 2009, they signed with Roadrunner Records. In December of that year, the group announced a change of name to Young The Giant. [6] In 2010, Young The Giant conducted a joint tour with Steel Train and Minus the Bear , while working on their debut album, produced by Joe Chiccarrelli. The first single of the album "My Body" was broadcast on the radio in January and finished fifth on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. [7] For a week, the single was available for free download on iTunes. In the same month, the group performed a song on the Jimmy Kimmel Live TV show ! .
