Origin and history of names
The street got its modern name in honor of Andrei Borisovich Yumashev (1902-1988) - Hero of the Soviet Union , a test pilot, a participant in the Moscow-America flight in 1937 .
Location and amenities
The street runs from south to north approximately parallel to the Iset River . It starts at the intersection with Khomyakov at the park of the 22nd Party Congress and ends at the building of the Sverdlovsk Pedagogical College on the Iset River Cape near its confluence with the City Pond [1] [2] . There are no intersections with other streets. On the right is Papanin Street. There are no junctions to the street to the left.
The length of the street is about 450 meters. The width of the carriageway is about 7 m (one lane in each direction). There is a traffic light at the intersection with Khomyakova Street, there are no unregulated pedestrian crossings . On both sides of the street is equipped with sidewalks and street lighting . House numbering starts from Khomyakova Street.
History
The street appeared in the 1930s , next to the village of "Red Roof" and its eastern side was built up with 1-story wooden residential buildings. In 1967, the new Pedagogical School building was built [3] . In 1978, a 12-story brick house No. 16 was commissioned, and in 1988 a 10-story brick house No. 10 was put in place. Admiralsky and Admiralsky-2 residential complexes (five 25- high-rise buildings) [4] , in 2013 the 25-story Admiral RC (d. No. 15) was commissioned [5] . Between the residential complex "Admiralsky" and the residential complex "Admiral" a bridge was planned over the Iset River, which will connect the central district of the city with a microdistrict. Nearest underground stations
There are no existing metro stations nearby. In the future, 750 meters south of the beginning of the street it is planned to open a station of the 2nd line of the Yekaterinburg metro "Square of the Communards . " However, due to lack of funding, construction has been postponed indefinitely. [6]
