Biography

Club career

Asier Riesgo is a graduate of Real Sociedad. He made his debut at the professional level in 2002 , going on loan to Eibar. In 2004, Asier was recalled from the lease due to a major goalkeeper injury. Blue-and-white Sander Westerfeld . In the elite Spanish division, he debuted on May 19, 2004 in a match against Alaves .

After Westerfeld left the team, Riesgo became the main goalkeeper of Real Sociedad. However, in 2006, the club bought Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo , who ousted Riesgo from the line-up and became the main goalkeeper.

In the 2007/2008 season, which Real Sociedad played in the second division , Asier was the main goalkeeper and played 42 games of the season. However, to achieve the return to the elite of Spanish football "white-blue" failed. In August 2008, Riesgo was leased to the Recreativo Club, which played in Example [2] .

In the new team, Riesgo became the player of the main team, and in the match against Numancia on January 4, 2009, Riesgo reflected 2 penalties and helped his team win - 3: 1 [3] . In December 2009, Riesgo was interested in English " Tottenham ", who was looking for a replacement for the injured Carlo Cudicini [5] . Returning to the Real Sociedad camp, Riesgo played 7 matches in the 2009/2010 season, after Bravo’s injury and the second goalkeeper Enyauta Zubikarai’s disqualification. On June 18, 2010, Riesgo’s contract with Real Sociedad expired and he moved to Osasuna, signing a 3-year contract. [6]

On July 28, 2015, Riesgo moved to Eibar as a free agent.

International Career

Riesgo played for Spain’s youth and youth teams. Winner of the Junior European Championship 2002 and finalist of the World Youth Championship 2003 [7] .
