Ålands Social Democratic Party ( Swedish Ålands Socialdemokrater ) - Social Democratic political party of the Åland Islands . In the 2007 parliamentary elections, the party received only 11.5% of the vote and 3 out of 30 seats, but doubled its representation in 2011, and the party chairman took the post of Prime Minister Alandov.

The party was founded in 1971 , and since 1906 has been an association of workers of the Åland Islands. After Finland declared independence , the Social Democrats were closer to the Social Democratic Party of Sweden than to the Social Democratic Party of Finland . After World War II , the Social Democrats fought with supporters of the leftist Democratic Union of the people of Finland , which for some time became the island’s largest political organization.
