Pinsky Leshchinsky Holy Assumption Monastery is an Orthodox monastery of the 13th century , one of the most ancient in Belarus. Not preserved.

Monastery History
The first information about the monastery dates back to 1263 . Located in the suburbs of Pinsk Lesche. In the XIV — XV centuries. was the center of the Orthodox Turovo-Pinsk diocese, chronicles were kept here, Slavic translations of Byzantine literary works corresponded. In the Turovo-Pinsk diocese by 1420, there were 49 monasteries [1] .
There was once a legend that the monastery was founded by Kiev Prince Vladimir . Since its foundation, the monastery has become the center of Western Orthodoxy. Until the 17th century, the metropolitans of the West Russian Church called themselves, in addition to the titles of the metropolitans of Kiev, Galitsky and All Russia, Leshchinsky, and only later Kiev Pechersk [2] .
The first church of the monastery was consecrated in the name of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is mentioned under 1263 , when the son of Prince Mindovg, monk Roman ( Voyshelk ), after the assassination of Mindovg by Troinat, fled here from the Lavrishevsky monastery [3] .
In the 16th century, the Tatars ravaged the monastery.
Archimandrites of the Leschinsky monastery were Joseph Nelyubovich-Tukalsky , Elisha Pletenetsky .
In 1596, 1605-1623, 1638. the monastery belonged to the Uniates . In 1639, through the efforts of Joseph Nelyubovich-Tukalsky, he was returned to the Orthodox as a lifetime possession of Archimandrite Nikifor Lazovsky. King Vladislav IV subordinated the monastery to the Kiev Metropolitan Sylvester Kossov , however in 1668 the monastery again passed to the Basilians and remained with them until 1838 [4] .
In 1778, an organ was installed in the church of the monastery, the first in the Belarusian Uniate churches.
In the XIX century, the monastery was administratively subordinate to the Zhirovitsky "provincial", like the other 20 Uniate monasteries. After the abolition of the monastery in 1840 , the Assumption Church became a parish [5] .
In 1997, the place where the monastery was located was designated with a memorial sign.
Monastery Architecture
According to inventories of 1588 and 1595, the monastery complex was wooden, fenced with a stake fence. At the detinets, where a multi-tiered bell tower with a driveway led, there were a grid-room with a lantern, a three-chamber hut, a threshing floor, a stable, a bathhouse, two churches: the five-top of the vertically placed bars - Uspenskaya, and the "warm" with the refectory - St. Of the Spirit.
In 1740, a new baroque wooden Assumption Church was built, a basilica , a three-nave structure with a tiered top above the central part and two towers on the facade. She is depicted in the drawing of Napoleon Horde . It burned down in 1905 [6] .
