This direction was represented by the OSTCHEM holding company, which includes the assets of the group for the production and sale of mineral fertilizers with a total income of $ 2 billion, according to 2011 results.
Currently, OSTCHEM supplies 2.5% of the global consumption of calcium-ammonium nitrate (IAS) and 1.4% of the global consumption of urea-ammonia mixture (CAS). In addition to OSTCHEM, Group DF also produces ammophos at the Crimean Titan plant producing titanium dioxide.
OSTCHEM enterprises include Tajik Nitrogen , the leading producer of fertilizers in Central Asia, and Nitrofert, the only producer of ammonia and urea in Estonia . However, OSTCHEM's key manufacturing facilities are concentrated in Ukraine .
Ukraine
The company owns four Ukrainian enterprises producing nitrogen fertilizers: Concern Azot (Cherkasy) [2] , Concern Stirol (Gorlovka) [3] , Severodonetsk Azot [4] and Rovneazot (Rivne) [5] . OSTCHEM shows the highest growth rates of capital investments and production volumes among all chemical companies in Ukraine. [6]
Gas supplies
In the spring of 2011, Ostchem holding strengthened its position in Ukraine, having received the right to import Central Asian gas for chemical enterprises. In 2011, the company purchased gas from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, importing 4.8 billion cubic meters of fuel per year. But since 2012, Ostchem began to buy gas directly from Gazprom [7] . Ostchem, having squeezed out the state monopoly of Naftogaz Ukrainy, received special price conditions for the supply of gas According to sources, in January Naftogaz was the only importer of Russian gas to the country, including for Ostchem, having purchased 2.4 billion from Gazprom cubes. But since February 2013 the situation has changed. Naftogaz purchased only 0.4 billion cubic meters in Russia, and Ostchem - 2.4 billion, exceeding its quarterly requirements. [8] .
