About the album
Is This Desire? It was ambiguously met by critics: some were disappointed with Harveyβs experimental style, but overall the reviews were positive. The album received gold status in France [1] and was nominated for a Grammy , but in the end the prize went to Beck Hansen for Mutations . [2] PJ Harvey herself in an interview with The Daily Telegraph called Is This Desire? its best record and peak career. [3]
