The village is located on the western shore of the Yamal Peninsula , received its name from Cape Kharasavey [1] .
In 1976, at Cape Kharasavey directly onto the ice of the Kara Sea , the equipment for gas workers was first unloaded from the Pavel Ponomarev motor ship, which was led by the Lenin nuclear-powered icebreaker [2] .
It is planned to build a branch of the Obskaya-Bovanenkovo-Karskaya railway from Bovanenkovo to Kharasavey, which will connect it with the Obskaya station [3] .
