Career
Drafted by the Cardinals in the fifth round of the 2006 draft. In 2007, he played at Palm Beach, the A-level team of the Cardinals system, the next year, 2008 he played at Springfield Cardinals, and then at Memphis Redbirds, AA and AAA teams, respectively.
May 7, 2009 summoned to Major League Baseball instead of injured Rick Ankiel . On the same day he came out as a pinch hitter in a match against Pirates , however, he could not realize access to the bat [1] . On May 10, in a duel against the Reds , Shane knocked out his first hit. [2]
The 2010 season began at Memphis, where after 26 games, he suffered a shoulder injury and was eliminated before the end of the season.
The beginning of the 2011 season was spent on recovery, playing in teams of different levels. Again, he entered the Major League Baseball on September 2 , having left a pinch hit in a duel with the Reds [3] . However, in the triumphant Postseason 2011 he was not taken.
In 2012 , with the arrival of new manager Mike Matheny , Shane began to appear more often, but this implied a rotation that the mentor used to check players in different positions or just give them a break. On April 8, in a duel against Milwaukee , he knocked out his first home run of his career with the filing of Cameron Loe , who became a three-pointer [4] . In total, he hit the bat 166 times in the season, in which he knocked out 3 home runs and 16 RBI.
