Large squirrel with a long tail. The body length is from 22 to 34 cm, the tail length is from 23 to 33 cm. The body weight is from 428 to 909 g [2] . The motley squirrel inhabits both dry and moist forests of Central America and Mexico .
These are solitary animals living on trees. They build their nests, usually in the branches of tall trees. Active during the day, with maximum activity occurring in the early morning [2] . They feed on soft fruits, including mango , guava , yellow mombin and Guazuma ulmifolia . The average number of cubs in a litter is from 4 to 6.
