Lyavonikha ( krutukha [1] [2] ) - Belarusian massively paired mass dance . It is performed to the melody of the folk song “And Lyavon fell in love with Lyavonih ...”, from which he received the name [3] .

Content
Dance Choreographic Composition
Performed in pairs with solo variations to the song of the same name of comic content. The dance is dynamic, cheerful. Musical size 2/4. The pace is lively.
The choreographic composition of the dance consisted of traditional drawings (circle, asterisk, snake, gate), from different transitions in pairs or lines with the change of partners and circling in pairs, holding hands. At the wedding, “Lyavonikha” was the main dance, and at evening parties it was performed after the “Lyantsey” and was accompanied by various humorous refrains, for example:
And Lyavonіha wasn’t okay,
She gave me a slurry
Crumpled, not rocked,
The grease is pazyzyany.
In some places of Belarus , Lyavonikha was performed as a solo dance. The performers went out one at a time in the middle of the circle and danced as best they could. The movements of the dancers were very different - stamping, galloping, trampling.
Lyavonikha on the Belarusian stage
For the first time the dance is shown on the stage in ethnographic form by I. Buinitsky . The first stage edition was created in the 1920s by K. Aleksyutovich [4] .
“Lyavonikha” entered the repertoire of many professional and amateur groups, used in the ballets “Nightingale” by M. Kroshner, “Prince Lake” by V. Zolotarev .
