IX World Esperanto Congress

9th Congress Poster

The IX World Esperanto Congress was held on August 24-31, 1913 in Bern , the capital of Switzerland, and 1015 Esperantists from 30 countries took part in it [1] . The main issues on the agenda of the congress were the strengthening of cooperation between national organizations of Esperantists, the Language Committee was also elected.

The cultural program of the congress included the presentation of plays in Esperanto, among which were E. Grievre's “ Genevre ” by H. Bertin and J. Versett, actors of the Royal Theater of Flanders, together with non-professional actors, “Fatherhood” by Maria Wolf and “William Tell” F. Schiller , director G. Wackerlin.
