Biography
The son of a postman. He did not finish his studies at the Higher Commercial School of Neuchâtel . In 1956 - 1957 he lived in Geneva , Lausanne , worked in a bookshop, in a printing house. In 1959 he taught French in Valencia . In the same year, he published his first book of poems Talking Alone . Then he began to experience acute bouts of loneliness and melancholy, first appeared in a psychiatric clinic. He used alcohol and drugs. After the death of his mother in 1963, he tried to commit suicide. He was placed in a psychiatric clinic near Neuchatel. Committed suicide.
Creativity
His favorite poets were Nerval , Hölderlin , Corbières , Artaud . During his life he published in small editions two collections of poems that remained almost unnoticed. The predominant part of the heritage is published after the death of the poet in the care of his friend, the Swiss writer Georges Aldas. Criticism reckons Zhoka as damned poets .
