Carried by the Wind: Tsukikage Ran ( 蘭 蘭 か か 月 蘭 Kademakase Tsukikage Ran , Perekati-Tsukikage Ran) is a Japanese anime series, written and directed by Akitaro Daiti. The series was released by Madhouse Studios and was broadcast on WOWOW from January 26 to April 19, 2000 . A total of 13 anime episodes were released. The series was licensed by Bandai Entertainment in the United States .

The creation of Tsukikage Ran was inspired by tyambara series, for example, 1965 Su-ronin Tsukikage . [1] Remaining generally faithful to the genre, [2] it reflects the special style of Akitaro Daiti. [3]
Content
Story
Each episode is a separate story. The main characters - a samurai woman who loves to drink, Tsukikage Run and her girlfriend Meow - travel around Japan and constantly get into different modifications, becoming witnesses of the activities of thieves and other thieves.
Character List
Tsukikage Run ( Jap. 月 影 蘭 ) - Ronin loves sake . According to her, she goes where her wind will direct. He is fluent in katana and Ju-Jitsu techniques. In combat, he often strikes the unsharpened side of the sword to avoid unnecessary casualties. She, unlike Meow, does not have enough money all the time and in this plan Meow often helps her. Despite her independence, she is very kind and filled with a sense of justice. It takes care of Meow and other people who need help. When angry, says "absolutely inexcusable."

Meow ( jap. ミ ャ オ ) - Master of Chinese martial arts. Has a golden heart. Very brave and often interferes in the affairs of other people. In contrast, Ran is very cheerful and energetic, but scattered and slow.

Tonto Sakurasai - Appears in 5 series. He is an artist of ukiyo-e , who is looking for a beautiful girl as a model for his drawing.

Maya - Appears in 9 series. Childhood friend Meow. The death of her parents led her to become an opium dealer. Before dying, she admits that she chose the wrong path in life.
Stephanie - Appears in 10 series. A foreign woman who has a hot interest in Japanese culture and is convinced that the country consists entirely of samurai , ninja and geisha . She came to Japan to learn how to own a katana.
Junzaburo Siina - Appears in the 13th series. He taught Ran fencing, and also introduced her to sake . For a small reward, he acts as a fighter of the local dojo against wandering ken-jutsu masters. Drinks bitter. He was forced to abandon the sword for the sake of the geisha he loves.
Sayyu : Keiji Fujiwara
Miyashita - Appears in 1 series. Charismatic samurai-ronin, working on the criminal clan Benitsubaki. Cynical and cool. For a while, he was on friendly terms with Ran. I appreciated her fencing skills with the phrase “Not bad for a woman.” One of the most dangerous opponents of Run in the series.

Samurai, the abductor of women - appears in 5 series. Works on a gang of kidnappers of women, hiding behind the art studio Tonto Sakurasai. Gang leaders respectfully call him a sensei. Arrogant and arrogant. Before the battle with Ran contemptuously declares: "Woman samurai? Funny". Ran's calm look pulls him off.
Samurai - criminal - appears in 6 series. She escaped from prison with a female Kung Fu master and terrorizes the neighborhood with her. Beautiful and looks like Run. The peasants of the village take Ran for it, because of which the latter almost falls into an unpleasant story. Has a special sign - a mole on the pope (as well as Ran).
Samurai - the assassin - appears in 12 series. By order of a judge, he kills the thieves who stole a valuable porcelain plate for the judge. Attacks Meow, but the presence of witnesses causes him to retreat. Sent by the judge to kill Ran. Cynical and absolutely ruthless. During the battle with Ran, he explicitly states that he is not at all concerned with moral issues. "I don't care who I work for."
