History
Since 1798 it was called Malaya Zeleinaya Street , the name was given along Bolshaya Zelenina Street, which in turn was named after Zeleinaya Sloboda, in which the workers of the Zeleyny ( powder ) factory, located in the western part of Aptekarsky Island , lived. At the same time, there were options for the name 3rd Zeleinaya Street , Deaf Zeleinaya Street [1] .
The modern name Malaya Zelenina Street has been known since 1849 , arose as a result of the transformation of the previous name [1] .
