Dobrodzha Veke [5] ( mold. Dobrogea Veche ), or Staraya Dobrudzha is a village in Syngerey district of the Republic of Moldova. It is the administrative center of the commune Dobrodzha Veche , which also includes the village of Kotovka and Dobrodzha Noua [6] .

Content
Geography
The village is located at an altitude of 221 meters above sea level [1] .
History
The village was founded in 1918 by Russian Old Believers from the village of Pokrovka . In 1922-1927, the Old Believer Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos was built [7] .
75 Old Believers from Old Dobrudja took part in the Great Patriotic War , 38 of them died. In 1983, a memorial of military glory was opened in the village [8] .
From January 31, 1952 to June 15, 1953, the district was part of the Balti district , on January 9, 1956, most of the territory of the abolished Kishkaren district was transferred to the Synzherey district . At the same time the area received the name of Lazovsky .
In 1972, the collective farm of Old Dobrudja was transformed into the seed farm “Zarya”, which specialized in the production of elite seeds of corn, grain, sugar beet. In the 1990s, the village became one of the largest centers for the production of rose bushes in the post-Soviet space. Every year from 2.5 to 10 million rose bushes are produced in the village [7] [9] .

According to the 2004 census , 1,181 people live in the village of Dobrodzha Veche (561 men, 620 women) [2] .
