PocoMail is a shareware mail client for Microsoft Windows , originally developed by Poco Systems in 1999. It was originally designed to provide better spam protection and protection against network attacks using its own scripting method called PocoScript, unlike the JavaScript scripts used or the standard Microsoft Script.

Pocomail received the PC Software Magazine's “Shareware Program of the Year 2000” Award for being intuitive and easy to use, supporting POP3 and IMAP protocols, having support for viewing in HTML format, and also allowing access to multiple accounts at once in one simple application [1] .
The most recent update was with the release of 4.8 (for April 2009), new functionalities were added to it, such as the ability to edit letters that were sent or received, as well as make PocoMail a new updated mail client as part of the RoseCity Software project directed to users of the Courier email client (whose development stopped March 3, 2008 ). Additional features included the Courier’s strongest key features built into PocoMail. PocoMail also included a powerful Bayesian filtering engine to prevent spam [2] . PocoMail has problems displaying encoded characters in UTF-8 . Further development of the project was discontinued.
It is worth noting that the program has a tool for creating newsletters , there is a built-in module for checking spelling , there is the ability to view emails in HTML format, there are built-in templates using variables and a graphic smiley library, address book, design styles , support for receiving news in format RSS , can sort the mail, import letters ( the Microsoft the Outlook , the Outlook Express , of The Bat! , the Netscape , Eudora mail address , Pegasus mail address, Calypso, the Unix mailers), and also has the ability to automatically archive all mail database for in the formation of all the information from a backup due to an unexpected failure, and more.
