Biography
Evgeny Savvich Nezhintsev was born on March 17 [1] 1904 in Kiev. He studied at the gymnasium there. Having started work at the age of fifteen, he changed several types of activity: he was a time-attendant, watchman, clerk, and locksmith's assistant. Then he studied at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. As a work correspondent for the newspaper Proletarskaya Pravda, he composed poems and wrote notes on production topics. In 1927, after graduation, he was directed to the construction of the Volkhov hydroelectric power station, then transferred to Leningrad as an engineer at Lenenergo .
After the start of World War II, Evgeny Nezhintsev volunteered for the militia, but due to illness, he didn’t get to the front.
Evgeny Savvich Nezhintsev died of starvation in Leningrad on April 10, 1942.
Creativity
The first poetry collection of E. S. Nezhintsev was released in 1930 in Kiev under the name "Apple Pier." The following year, a second collection of poems was published - "The Birth of a Song." Since 1931 - a member of the All-Russian Union of Writers [2] .
He also translated poems, short stories, and novels from English, French, and Ukrainian. He translated the works of T. Shevchenko , I. Franko , M. Kotsyubynsky , modern Ukrainian poets.
The manuscripts of the poet are stored in the Central State Archive of Literature and Art of St. Petersburg [2] .
