Marc Batta ( fr. Marc Batta ; born November 1, 1953 ) is a football referee from France . On August 1, 2012, Batta began to head the referee division of the Romanian Football Federation .

From July 2004 to 2008, Batta headed the referee division of the French Football Federation .

Butta is better known for judging two matches at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France , as well as for the fact that during the match Germany - Portugal (qualifying match in the 1998 World Cup), where Rui Costa received a second yellow card and was removed from the field, after 3 minutes earlier, at 71 minutes, he scored a goal against the German team.
