Biography
Peter Antipkin was born on September 23, 1930 in the village of Muzhitskoe, Dukhovshchinsky District, Smolensk Region, into a peasant family. In 1945 he graduated from the seven-year school, after which he worked on the collective farm “Pioneer” in the Dukhovshchinsky district, and received the specialty of a tractor driver. In 1948 - 1951, Antipkin worked as a tractor driver of the Dobrinsky state farm , in 1951-1953 - as a rifleman for the militarized protection of a special area of Glavpromstroy. In 1953 he was called up for service in the Soviet Army , demobilized in 1955 . Returning to his homeland, he worked as a tractor driver, then as a foreman of the tractor brigade of the Vereshkovichi machine-tractor station , and then as a foreman of the tractor brigade of the Dobrinsky state farm. Since 1964, Antipkin led the mechanized unit for the cultivation of potatoes [1] .
Within five years, the Antipkin unit received record potato yields at its lowest cost in the region [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 30, 1966, Peter Antipkin was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer medal [1] .
In 1972, Antipkin graduated from the Smolensk Regional Party Party School with a degree in an agronomist-organizer, and then for ten years worked as the chairman of the Novaya Zhizn collective farm in Dukhovshchinsky District. In 1982 - 1983, Antipkin held the position of chief agronomist of the Dukhovshchinsky district for plant protection, in 1983-1986 he was the inspector of the Dukhovshchinsk inspection for procurement and the quality of agricultural products, since February 1986 he was the chief agronomist-inspector for the purchases and quality of agricultural products of the Dukhovshchinsky district agricultural and industrial union Smolensk areas. In 1990 he retired. He lived in the village of Zimets in the Dukhovshchinsky District, died on October 6, 1999 . He was buried in the city cemetery Dukhovshchina [1] .
