Biography
Sergei Egorov was born on December 25, 1913 in the city of Dukhovshchina (now the Smolensk Region ) into a peasant family. He graduated from elementary school in the village of Tyapolovo , then nine-year-old and a pedagogical college in the Dukhovshchina. Since 1931 he worked as a teacher, then director of the Glazkovskaya incomplete secondary school. In 1939-1940 , Yegorov was secretary of the Slobodsky district committee of the Komsomol , in 1940-1941 - the head of the Sloboda district department of public education. During the years of World War II, he was one of the first to join a partisan detachment led by Mikhail Shultz . In February 1942 - March 1943, Yegorov was deputy chairman of the executive committee of the Sloboda region. In March 1943, he became secretary, in 1945 - the second, and in 1947 - the first secretary of the Sloboda district committee of the CPSU (b). Since 1955, Egorov was the first secretary of the Gzhatsky (now Gagarinsky ) district committee of the CPSU [1] .
During his leadership of the Gzhat district of the Smolensk region, Yegorov took an active part in the development of his agriculture, the introduction of best practices in his practice, and the increase in livestock productivity and productivity. The collective farms of the region were the first in the Smolensk region to advance to monthly advances, achieved millions of incomes, and introduced monetary wages for workers [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 10, 1958, Sergei Yegorov was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle Medal " [1] .
In 1961 - 1969, Egorov was chairman of the party commission at the Smolensk regional committee of the CPSU. He died on April 29, 1969, was buried in the Blade cemetery in Smolensk [1] .
Member of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR of the 4th and 5th convocations, delegate of the 20th Congress of the CPSU , member of the Smolensk regional committee of the CPSU, deputy of the district and regional Soviets of People’s Deputies. He was also awarded the medals “For Labor Valor” and “Partisan of the Patriotic War” of the 2nd degree [1] .
