KOI-1589 is a sun-like star, almost equal in parameters to the sun . For the first time in astronomical literature, it is mentioned in the 2MASS catalog, published in 2003 . The mass of the star is 0.96 solar, and the radius is 0.99. The surface temperature of the star is approximately 5755 Kelvin .
