The 2012 World Track Cycling Championship was held in Melbourne from April 4 to April 8 under the auspices of the UCI . 19 sets of awards were won: 10 for men and 9 for women. Representatives from the United Kingdom and Australia won 12 of the 19 awards. Like a year ago, the main heroine of the games was the Australian cyclist Anna Mirs , who won 4 medals, of which 2 were gold. After these victories, the Australian athlete became a 10-time world champion. Also during the championship was the main selection for the Summer Olympic Games in London.
