Ivo Michels

Ivo Michels [2] , actually Henri Ceuppens ( Dutch. Ivo Michiels , January 8, 1923 , Mortsel, Antwerp , Belgium - October 7, 2012 , Le Barrou , France ) is a Belgian ( Flemish ) writer, screenwriter and film director, journalist.

Biography and Creativity

Started with poetry. As a journalist collaborated with many Flemish publications, from 1979 to 1983 he directed the newspaper Nieuw Vlaams Tijdschrift . The most famous filmed in his script co-authored film The Seagulls Die in the Harbor ( 1955 ), which became one of the most prominent Belgian films of the 1950s and was nominated for the Golden Palm Branch of the Cannes IFF . According to his script, written on the basis of the novel Woman between a Dog and a Wolf , the film of the same name ( 1979 ) by Andre Delvo was shot.

He was influenced by the new novel . Since 1979 he lived in France near Avignon .
