Biography
In 1862 he entered the Imperial Medical and Surgical Academy in St. Petersburg , where he graduated with honors in 1868. In 1869 he became a doctor of medicine, in 1870 he was a privat-docent and a prosector at the Department of Pathological Anatomy . Then he was sent abroad for improvement, mainly in pathological anatomy, general pathology and clinical medicine. From May 14, 1871 he was an extraordinary professor, from March 2, 1872 - an ordinary professor in the department of general pathology at Kharkov University . He was promoted to the rank of state adviser (with seniority from March 2, 1872). In 1886 he moved to the department of private pathology and therapy, in the same year he received the rank of current state adviser (December 28). Since 1888 he was an ordinary professor, from May 30, 1896 he was an honored ordinary professor at the department of the therapeutic faculty clinic. At the same time, member of the Council of the Minister of Education , Privy Councilor (January 1, 1914).
