Biography

He began his studies at the Faculty of Entrepreneurship, but dropped out of school and went to work as an assistant director in films. Later he worked for 12 years in an advertising agency. Having met Annika Blloyard, she leaves with her for Canada , where she works for two years in a bookstore, as a Spanish teacher and translator. In 1967 he left for Paris , where he writes lyrics for his brother, Jorge Krae.

In the late 70s, his fast-paced career in the author’s song began. Javier Krae gets acquainted with Joaquin Sabina , then a bard still unknown to anyone, and they begin to perform in the legendary Mandragora club. The club gave the name to their general group, where, in addition to Javier Krae and Joaquin Sabina, Alberto Perez performed, and the first disc, released in 1981 , which became an important event in the era of transition from dictatorship to democracy .

In 1984-1985, new discs of this group appeared, openly satirical, criticizing the political situation in the country. Krae's solo performances from 1986 to 1999 could be heard in small music halls and clubs. In 2002, one of his best CDs appeared - “Fictions and Scars” sp. Cábalas y cicatrices , where each song is accompanied by a story related to it. He still supports this format, he showed it at a concert in Moscow in 2007 . [2]

Krae has always performed and performed in Spain, and Moscow was the first country where Krae agreed to perform. [3]

In 2004, Krae’s friends presented him with a gift, the creation of which the singer did not know anything until the last moment, - a disc with song recordings and a road-movie created in his honor - “This is not Javier Krae’s private life” . Joaquin Sabina, Pedro Guerra , Carmen Paris , Joan Manuel Serrat , Javier Ruybal and others took part in the recording of the disc.

The process of insulting the feelings of believers

In 2004, Javier Krae unexpectedly hit the pages of all Spanish and many foreign media: in the program about his turbulent youth, producer Montserrat Fernandez Villa directed the 54-second film "How to Cook Christ," shot as a home video and in the style of a culinary show back in 1977 . The lawsuit for “ insulting religious feelings ” in the Territory was filed by the Thomas Moreau Law Center, a Catholic human rights organization. The hearing took place in a Madrid court on Monday, May 28, 2012 . The region was supported by prominent representatives of Spanish culture, among them Alex de la Iglesia , Leo Basi, Miguel Rios and others. In an interview with the newspaper El País , Javier Krae said:

“I am accused of a number of acts that I did not commit. I didn’t appear on television, preparing Christ, I’m not even among those images that are included in the film ” [4]

A well-known satirist in Madrid and a TV presenter nicknamed Big Wyoming (Jose Miguel Monson) spoke at the trial, saying that he was part of the team that made the film and that Krae had no idea that the shocking images would be broadcast on television. On June 8, 2012, Javier Krae was acquitted on all counts. The court ruled that “the subject of the dispute is the result of the legitimate administration of artistic creation with elements of satire criticizing religious phenomena in our society. <...> it has provocation and criticism, but there is no desire to offend. " Thus, article 525 of the Spanish Penal Code, which punishes up to 12 months of imprisonment and a fine for insulting the feelings of believers, was not applied again.
