Biography

Barbara Gillian Briggs was born on June 15, 1934 .

In 1998, she was one of the nerds at the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group [3] . Since retiring, Briggs has been an honorary fellow at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney [2] . She has a bachelor's degree (with honors) and a Ph.D. [2] . Barbara Gillian has described over 280 plant species [4] .

Scientific activity

Barbara Gillian Briggs specializes in seed plants [1] . Her research interests include phylogeny of the Restionaceae family, the Centrolepidaceae family and the Anarthriaceae family, the number of chromosomes in Australian plants of the Restionaceae family , a description of the Restionaceae family, the flora of Australia, and a description of Ecdeiocolea rigens [2] .
